Do chão da rua para o caminho da escola. A dança folclórica como práticas culturais e pedagógicas do bairro do Coroado

Resumo

This research, developed within the line “Technical-Methodological Approaches to Teaching Practices” of the Professional Master’s Program in Arts (PROF-ARTES), investigates the potential of folkloric dances from the Coroado neighborhood in Manaus, Amazonas, as cultural and pedagogical practices. The study focuses on aesthesia, understood as sensitivity and bodily perception, analyzing how it is mobilized in manifestations developed around the Full-Time School (CETI) Cacilda Braule Pinto, with emphasis on the regional dances “As Abelhinhas” and “Beija-Flor.”The main objective was to analyze the potential of these dances in valuing formative processes and local cultural expressions, promoting the expression of memory, identity, and movement. The theoretical framework is based on Marques (2007, 2013), Rengel (2007), Pinto (2015), and Larrosa (2017), in dialogue with the competencies proposed by the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC).The methodology, qualitative and collaborative in nature (action research), was structured in four stages: documentary research, semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and practical dance experiences with students. The results show that folkloric dances strengthen students’ identity and sense of belonging by valuing local cultural manifestations, as well as fostering the recovery of collective memory through embodied experiences. In the pedagogical context, dance promotes meaningful learning, encouraging participation, creativity, and student protagonism. It is concluded that folkloric dance is not a static object of contemplation, but a powerful pedagogical resource that articulates body, culture, and sensitive knowledge, contributing to the integral formation of critical and sensitive individuals.
