Relatório de estágio supervisionado obrigatório: Área de extensão rural

Resumo

The mandatory supervised internship aimed to carry out rural extension activities based on the practical application of academic techniques, aiming to empower small rural producers in dairy farming and family agriculture. This initiative expanded the capacity to develop professional competence in Rural Extension. It involved participating in agricultural events in the Lower Amazon Region, training family ranchers in hygienic milking practices, raising consumer awareness of dairy products, evaluating dairy derivatives (such as curd cheese, butter cheese, and dulce de leche), producing biofertilizers for various crops, training family farmers in biofertilizer application, and developing strategies for alternative pest control. The mandatory supervised internship was conducted under the Amazonas Leite Extension Program: Producing Milk Sustainably, linked to the Federal University of Amazonas - UFAM, at the Institute of Social Sciences, Education, and Zootechnics - ICSEZ, based at the Biotechnology Laboratory. The Amazonas Leite program is an educational, research, and extension group focusing on dairy cattle farming, with an emphasis on agricultural fairs, exhibitions, rural events, as well as dairy product markets and consumers. Following the program's guidelines, multidisciplinary rural extension activities were carried out by combining local knowledge with academic techniques to bridge the gap between the local reality and the university. This practical approach provided solutions to challenges faced by individuals within that context. Interaction with the target audience was facilitated through lectures, training sessions, workshops, dairy product and silage production, and evaluation of dairy derivatives. These activities during the supervised internship fostered the development of competencies and skills in the professional field by integrating technical knowledge with practical experiences gained throughout the undergraduate program via the Amazonas Leite Extension Program: Producing Milk Sustainably at the Federal University of Amazonas in Parintins/AM campus.
