A metropolização do espaço: uma análise a partir de lindóia e novo remanso no município de Itacoatiara - AM

Abstract

The metropolization of space is a complex process that is becoming increasingly evident in the context of globalization, and this is also occurring in the Metropolitan Region of Manaus (RMM). The spatial diversity of the RMM is remarkable, characterized by the coexistence of metropolized and non-metropolized spaces, even though, from a legal and territorial point of view, they are considered metropolitan spaces. This diversity is reflected in a variety of landscapes and forms of spatial organization. To understand this dynamic, Lindóia and Novo Remanso will be analyzed from the perspective of metropolization, using the concepts of metropolized and non-metropolized spaces, while considering that both constitute a metropolitan space due to the legal-territorial dimension that delimits the RMM. To meet the stated objectives, the historical dialectical materialism method is adopted in order to understand the phenomena from their totality, as well as the material conditions, using the following methodological procedures: bibliographic and documentary research, fieldwork, application of interviews, and photographic records. Understanding these aspects allowed us to see that the process of metropolization directly influences the socio-spatial dynamics of Lindóia and Novo Remanso, incorporating metropolitan characteristics into these spaces. Although they are distant from the metropolis, they are influenced by this logic, which redefines their practices and way of life.
