IA Cantadeira: o uso da Inteligência Artificial para resgatar o Beiradão, cancioneiro popular do Amazonas, na escola João Paulo II.

Abstract

This research presents the project IA Cantadeira, a pedagogical proposal that integrates Artificial Intelligence into Arts Education with the aim of rescuing, valuing, and disseminating the popular songbook of the Amazon, with emphasis on Beiradão, a musical expression recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of the state of Amazonas. The study was conducted at Escola Municipal João Paulo II, located in the eastern rural area of Manaus, involving sixth-grade students from middle school. The investigation adopts A/r/tography as its methodological approach, articulating the roles of artist, teacher, and researcher in a relational and situated process. The educational product consists of a digital multimedia archive combined with gamified learning tools and Artificial Intelligence resources, enabling linguistic, musical, and cultural analysis of regional repertoire, as well as AI-assisted musical creation. The results indicate the strengthening of students’ cultural identity, increased engagement in the learning process, and the reinforcement of connections between school and community. It is concluded that Artificial Intelligence, when critically and contextually applied, can function as a catalyst for cultural preservation and pedagogical innovation in Arts Education in the Amazon region.
