Resumo
This study aims to investigate the historical heritage of the city of Manaus built during the Belle Époque period, based on the analysis of their historical and cultural contexts. The uniqueness of these material assets highlights the construction of a unique historicity, the understanding of which is fundamental for the strengthening of local cultural identity. In this sense, the process of patrimonialization proves to be an indispensable instrument for the preservation of collective memory and for the valorization of the urban heritage of the capital of Amazonas. In view of this, the relevance of inserting this theme in the context of basic education is highlighted, using the teaching of Arts as a didactic-pedagogical mediation to foster the revival of historical and cultural memory. As a theoretical-methodological framework, we adopt Historical-Critical Pedagogy (PHC), conceived by Dermeval Saviani, whose perspective aims at the critical appropriation of knowledge by students, through the mastery of historically constructed knowledge, with a view to integral education and the promotion of social transformation.
