Caminhos de rio: uma cartilha musical sobre a cultura popular amazonense para o ensino das artes

Abstract

This research aims to develop and analyze the application of the educational product "River Paths: a musical handbook on Amazonian popular culture for arts education”. The project is grounded in the articulation between musical listening, interpretation, and artistic production, focusing on the valorization of regional culture within Arts education. This study is part of the research line Processes of Teaching, Learning, and Creation in the Arts. The study is anchored in the Design-Based Research (DBR) approach and qualitative research, enabling the creation, implementation, and analysis of pedagogical practices in real-world contexts, as well as an understanding of the students experiences. The pedagogical proposal utilizes Amazonian music as a didactic resource for the development of active listening and artistic production, culminating in the creation of an illustrated story by the students. The results demonstrate that musicalization activities associated with cultural content significantly contributed to increasing student interest, participation, and engagement, while also promoting the expansion of their cultural repertoire and the recognition of music as an expression of Amazonian identity.
