Sauim MOB Design: interface digital para democratização do design de mobiliário sob medida

Resumo

This dissertation presents the development and validation of the digital interface, the theme of this study, which was designed to democratize access to custom furniture design. The central research problem lies in the technical complexity and entry barriers for small manufacturers and users with low digital literacy in the process of detailing MDF furniture. The adopted methodology followed a user-centered design approach, consisting of requirements gathering, high-fidelity prototyping, and two cycles of usability testing. The first cycle, conducted with five participants, identified critical hesitations in parameterizing measurements and understanding interface elements. Based on these diagnostics, refinements were implemented in the interface's affordance, such as the standardization of nominal units (mm), optimization of input fields, and the insertion of technical responsibility terms. The revalidation, carried out with an expanded sample of 20 participants, demonstrated the effectiveness of the changes, with the success rate in the measurement stage rising from 40% to 85%. The results confirm that the tool simplifies the generation of parts and hardware lists, reducing inconsistencies in technical detailing and promoting autonomy in production planning. It is concluded that Sauim MOB Design fulfills its role as an enabling technology, transforming complex configuration processes into logical, accessible, and functional workflows for the furniture sector.
