Resumo
Archaeological ceramics from the Amazon play a crucial role in reconstructing the history of original peoples. As unique artifacts that demand protection, this research explores etnodesign combined with the use of contemporary technologies to develop advanced preservation strategies. The study aims to apply design knowledge and techniques to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, focusing on the archaeological ceramics from the Amazon that belong to the Guarita subtradition. Using the Design Thinking project methodology, by Vianna et al. (2012), an investigative approach was applied in conducting the questionnaire and experiments with the selected techniques, which generated digital and physical replicas of the PN1818 ballot boxes. A storage box for the replicas and an information sheet about the original artifacts were also developed. The results demonstrate the potential of rapid prototyping and slip gluing as effective alternatives for preservation, reducing the exposure of original parts to risks and enabling their application in different contexts.
