This study aims to make visible the understanding of the origin and description of the traditional knowledge of the Kapiwaya dance of the Ye'pa mahsã in the present day in the Community of Taracuá-Baixo Rio Uaupés, in the Municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira/AM, in addition to identifying stereotypes of the civilizing process that caused the devaluation and non-practice of the Kapiwaya dance, throughout history. To this end, before the anthropological ethnographic field research carried out in the community to the wise connoisseurs of Kapiwaya songs and dances of the Ye'pa Mahsa that still exist, I resorted to a bibliographic review focused on the subjects correlated to the object of research of the Tuyuka, Tukano, Dessano ethnic groups, among other indigenous and non-indigenous publications about the Pa'mʉri mahsa of the Tukano Triangle. As a result of the research, it is perceived that all ethnicities have their style and specificity in this dance, however, the lack of practice and the death of specialists in these dances, causes a loss in community cultural practices. This makes adolescents and current youth grow up with an interest in new means that modernity has been presenting to indigenous society. Faced with this reality, it is essential to learn from Bayaroa sages, valuing them and experiencing their indigenous cultural manifestations. It is imperative to act now to preserve and live this important expression of local culture, honoring its ancestral roots and ensuring that future generations can also benefit and be proud of this rich tradition.
