Indicadores educacionais e a qualidade do ensino em Humaitá Amazonas (2020-2024)

Abstract

This research is affiliated with the Graduate Program in Science and Humanities Education at the Federal University of Amazonas (PPGECH/UFAM), with support from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). The study aims to analyze educational indicators related to the teaching profession in the municipality of Humaitá, Amazonas, from 2020 to 2024, also considering academic performance as measured by the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB). The research is justified by the need to understand how these indicators manifest within the context of current educational policies and educational outcomes, especially in contexts marked by historical and territorial inequalities. This is a documentary study with a qualitative approach and a descriptive-analytical character, based on the analysis of secondary data provided by the Anísio Teixeira National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (INEP). The study is grounded in historical-dialectical materialism, understanding educational indicators as expressions of historical, social, and institutional determinants. The results indicate specific improvements in some teaching indicators over the analyzed period; however, they reveal limitations related to faculty stability, teaching effort, and compensation. It is observed that the quality of education, as reflected in IDEB results, requires an analysis that considers multiple factors and the context.
