Variação Morfossintática nas zonas leste e norte de Manaus - um estudo geossociolinguístico

Abstract

Using the theoretical and methodological assumptions of multidimensional dialectology (THUN, 1998), this study looks at morphosyntactic variation in the eastern and northern zones of Manaus. The main aim was to map trends in morphosyntactic variation in the capital of Amazonas. To do this, it was necessary to: describe the morphosyntactic uses of spoken Portuguese in Manaus in the following dimensions: diazonal, diatopic, diasexual and diagenerational; identify the extralinguistic factors that influence morphosyntactic variation in Manaus; and establish the norm of use for the morphosyntactic variant of each variable by selected neighborhood and zone. The following variables were analyzed: verb inflection, present tense, gerund, use of the article, gender inflection, plural nouns and personal pronouns. The dialectological research method used the basic tripod suggested by Cardoso (2010) was: choosing the network of points, selecting the informants and preparing the questionnaire. There was morphosyntactic variation.
