"Deixou de frequentar": experiências de abandono escolar entre mulheres estudantes da EJA na Zona Norte de Manaus/AM

Resumo

This study investigates experiences of school dropout and persistence among women students in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) program at a school in CDE 6, affiliated with Seduc-AM, in the North Zone of Manaus. The research adopts an ethnographic approach, including informal conversations, semi-structured interviews, and a participatory workshop conducted in 2024. Intersectionality guides the analysis of the multiple forms of oppression shaping their trajectories, considering gender, class, race, and generation. The results reveal that factors such as motherhood, domestic overload, and labor precarization hinder school permanence, while solidarity networks and the desire for transformation drive their return to education. Thus, education emerges as a space of resistance and possibilities.
