Desenvolvimento de um roadmap sistemático para a concepção de uma arquitetura de Digital Twin aplicado a sistemas legados

Resumo

This study provides a way to update legacy systems, which are outdated technologies and architectures that may not be able to meet Industry 4.0 requirements due to obsolescence. This approach mainly uses the idea of the Digital Twin to create a virtual replica of the system with capabilities like continuous simulation, monitoring, and control. In this case, retrofit serves as a support measure, enhancing the physical system to facilitate the successful implementation of the Digital Twin. This process involves the development of new components and technologies that facilitate the collection and interpretation of the data needed for the digital model, in addition to the advancement of important technologies. Modernization also allows the system to be updated while keeping the existing structure and equipment, which reduces expenses. The RAMI 4.0 reference model serves as the foundation for the proposed Digital Twin architecture, which facilitates the methodical, layer-by-layer integration of the virtual model with the physical system. A systematic framework for retrofit implementation is thus provided by the study, which includes identifying the requirements and features of the legacy system, setting modernization objectives and assumptions, and assessing performance both qualitatively and quantitatively prior to and following the upgrade. Integration of the improved system into the RAMI model maturity analysis is also considered, with a focus on smart factory requirements. In summary, the main contribution of this work is the development of a Digital Twin architecture specifically designed for legacy systems, highlighting the essential procedures needed to modernize legacy technology and providing workable and reasonably priced solutions in this area.
