A motivação dos professores de Educação Física da Rede Estadual de Ensino do Amazonas : uma reflexão sobre sua prática pedagógica

Abstract

Physical Education is a fundamental curricular component in the educational process, as it is responsible for promoting the physical, emotional and social development of students, however, there are numerous factors that permeate the teaching process. Knowing that the educational context is broad and complex, we will begin our reflection on the pedagogical work of PE teachers, starting from the search for understanding the factors related to motivation. It is known that the school environment is complex and directly influences the teaching-learning process, and this understanding is essential to promote actions aimed at improving teachers' working conditions and, consequently, student performance and participation. In this sense, this research aims to answer the following question: What factors may be related to the motivation of Physical Education teachers in their teaching? So that we could reach the answer to this question, thus achieving an understanding of the topic addressed, we listed the following as a general objective: Analyze how the motivation of PE teachers in the state education network of Amazonas, CDE-02, interferes in the process of teaching content of the Physical Education curricular component. As for specific objectives, we seek to: identify which factors can collaborate to motivate these teachers in their pedagogical practice; verify how the motivational factor of these teachers can influence student participation in Physical Education classes; develop, as an educational product, a professional development program for Physical Education teachers, containing an annual calendar, focused on activities aimed at the curricular component, which will be presented to the District Coordination 02, so that it can be implemented in State Schools, belonging to the Coordination . This research, to achieve the proposed objectives, presents a descriptive qualitative research in its methodological process. The field research was carried out in the city of Manaus, using the instrument of semi-structured interviews with 3 effective Physical Education teachers who work in the State Education Network in schools belonging to CDE 2. Based on the data analyzed through some processes that involve the Content Analysis technique proposed by (Bardin 2016), we were able to verify several concerns and challenges faced by Physical Education teachers at CDE 2. The main categories identified include: the need and limitation of continued training, the lack of cooperation between colleagues, the challenges brought by the virtual world, the lack of recognition and autonomy, lack of physical structure for the adequate development of specific methodologies of the curricular component and the lack of a sense of belonging. However, feelings of pride and motivation associated with achievements in competitions and the positive impact of sport on students' behavior also stand out. These are some categories that provided a solid basis for this and future discussions and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of Physical Education teaching in the region.
