Resumo
With more than half of the world’s population present on Online Social Networking Platforms (OSNs), sharing information can have negative consequences, especially when this information reaches an unintended audience. Despite the existence of measures such as privacy settings and risk scores, these solutions often fail to identify and assess broader threats to privacy, which are not limited to the content posted, but also to the way data is exposed on OSNs. These threats include profile cloning, cyberstalking and location tracking, resulting from flaws in privacy controls, which are not detected by solutions focused solely on the visibility of posts. This study proposed the creation of a privacy threat tree in OSNs, through the systematic identification of these threats and the analysis of information, private or public, that can expose users’ privacy. As a result, the research identified and presented eight main threats that can compromise users’ privacy, both in their profiles and in their posts.
