Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a syndrome characterized by progressive and
irreversible kidney dysfunction, considered a serious public health problem. Over the years,
several factors have contributed to the development of CKD in the indigenous population. In
caring for these peoples, nursing plays a fundamental role in applying standardized
interventions for chronic kidney patients, considering the specificities of the indigenous
setting. Objective: To evaluate the clinical applicability of Nursing Interventions included in
a CIPE® terminological subset for people affected by Chronic Kidney Disease, in the practice
of nurses working at the Indigenous Health Center (CASAi) in the municipality of
Manaus/Amazonas. Methodology: This is a descriptive and exploratory study, conducted
from January to March 2025. The study followed three phases: integrative literature review
(ILR), professional characterization of nurses, and evaluation of the applicability of
interventions from the CIPE terminological subset, where the Delphi technique was used to
systematize the participants' consensus on nursing interventions applicable or not in the
indigenous context. The data collected were categorized and discussed according to the
literature and the dimensions of transition theory, the same theory used in the construction of
the subset. Results: Of the 119 nursing interventions present in the subset, more than 95%
(n=114) were considered applicable, and only 5 were considered inapplicable, demonstrating
that nursing professionals are successful in adapting and performing the necessary actions in
patient care in the indigenous setting. Regarding the non-applicable NIs, the reasons for not
performing these interventions are related to structural and organizational issues. Conclusion:
Nurses considered most of the interventions in the CIPE® terminology subset applicable to
clinical practice at CASAi-Manaus, highlighting the ability of professionals to adapt care
practices to the specificities of the local context and emphasizing the relevance of tools such
as standardized terminologies in the care of indigenous people with Chronic Kidney Disease.
However, structural and organizational adjustments are necessary for a more effective
implementation of nursing practices in this setting.
