Resumo
Technical report diagnosing the development needs of the Brazil-nut value chain with APROCAM, the Association of Brazil-Nut Producers and Processors of Amaturá, in the Upper Solimões, Amazonas, Brazil. Founded in 2001, APROCAM is a non-profit organisation bringing together extractivists, smallholders and processing workers from the municipality's 41 rural communities and its urban centre, with 81 active members in 2024 and around 100 families involved — a predominantly riverine and Indigenous membership, notably of the Ticuna and Cocama peoples. The report characterises the territory, the native upland Brazil-nut groves, the river-based logistics system and the community processing unit, and presents a diagnosis of the association's business maturity.
