Resumo
Direct current (DC) microgrids have emerged as a promising alternative for
electricity supply in isolated or hard-to-reach regions, due to their ability to operate
autonomously and their ease of integration with renewable energy sources, such
as photovoltaic systems and storage systems like batery. In this context, power
converters plays a fundamental role, as they are responsible for regulating the DC
bus voltage, ensuring system stability, and enabling efficient energy sharing, even
in the presence of load variability and the intermittency of renewable sources. This
work presents a comparative evaluation of robust control techniques applied to an
isolated DC microgrid architecture, with the objective of ensuring system stability,
efficiency, and operational reliability. Different control strategies are investigated,
including pole placement, Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) control, and Linear
Parameter-Varying (LPV) model-based control, considering system operation under
parametric uncertainties. Performance analysis is carried out based on experimental
results obtained from the practical implementation of the controllers in a real DC
microgrid, allowing an objective assessment of the system’s dynamic behavior and
highlighting the advantages and limitations of each investigated control strategy.
