Amazônia Brasileira e sua vocação no contexto nacional e internacional

Abstract

As time passes and the climate changes predicted by the scientific community become increasingly evident, the Amazon gains prominence and receives attention from the world. This is because humanity's actions on it have the potential to significantly alter the climate, especially in the southern part of the continent. The objective of this research was to highlight the socio-economic and environmental vocation of the Amazon, with the specific objectives of demonstrating socio-biodiversity as an instrument for valuing the Amazon and the knowledge of indigenous peoples, highlighting the strengthening of the rights of nature in the Amazon Constitutions and indicating how the Amazon Cooperation Treaty and the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization - ACTO have contributed to environmental management and the sustainable use of Amazon potential.. As a result, it was found that the biodiversity that makes up the Amazon forest constitutes a fragile biome that, due to the aggressions it has been suffering, needs specific protective care to avoid perishing and, furthermore, that the vocation of the Amazon forest is, while remaining standing, to provide ecosystem services essential to human and environmental survival. To achieve this vocation, the action of society is fundamental, respect for mother earth, the establishment of new regulatory frameworks and the celebration of regional cooperation treaties have indispensable value, with the Amazon Cooperation Treaty and the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization – ACTO as the greatest representative of this need.
