Resumo
This thesis proposes an anthropological experience on the relationships between memory, archaeology, and heritage policies, under the ethnographic lens of the Japiim Archaeological Site in Manaus (AM), from an ethnographic installation perspective, in which vestiges, landscape, practices, affects, and atmospheres are articulated as an analytical and sensitive configuration of the field. The work develops through a reflexivity that mobilizes the concept of memory agency, inspired by ex post facto anthropology, to understand the site as a living and continuously reinscribed ethnographic installation. In the reflective process, the thesis addresses archaeological and socio-environmental licensing as a political arena, but also emphasizes art and heritage education as practices of sharing, co-authorship, and circulation of knowledge. The presentation of the imagistic records of the research field are paths in the search to reveal visual fragments, atmospheres, and vestiges, composing mosaics that highlight layers of relationship between humans, non-humans, and materialities in the Amazonian landscape. In this thesis, the ethnographic study of the Japiim archaeological site is configured as an ethnographic installation where memory, art, and politics intertwine, allowing for a reflective, sensory, and shared understanding of anthropological practice regarding archaeological heritage in urban Amazonia.
