Resumo
Menstrual poverty is a multifactorial problem, linked to issues of social, economic and environmental inequality. Therefore, this research aims to verify and analyze the possible relationship between social vulnerability, violation of rights and menstrual poverty among students at one of the main educational institutions in Itacoatiara – AM. To achieve and understand the objectives presented, the first chapter addresses the identification and nature of menstrual poverty, contextualizing menstruation historically and socially, establishing a connection with issues of environmental injustice. The second chapter delves into the various facets of menstrual poverty, highlighting how this condition directly affects the lives of people who menstruate, especially in contexts of social vulnerability. The lack of access to hygiene products, adequate infrastructure and information creates a cycle of exclusion and inequality, violating social and menstrual rights. The third chapter focuses on the vulnerabilities found at IFAM Campus Itacoatiara, reflecting on the nuances and complexities of the problem. It explores the factors that contribute to this reality and the impacts of menstrual poverty on students' routine and academic lives, highlighting how the lack of adequate resources harms the educational trajectory and well-being of these people. Different methodological tools were used, such as bibliographical research, conversation circles and application of forms. In addition to institutional actions, it is essential that national public policies are strengthened to guarantee access to menstrual hygiene products, basic sanitation and drinking water, especially in the most vulnerable regions. The research data reveals that the relationship between menstrual poverty, social vulnerability and environmental injustice requires multidisciplinary and integrated action, as only in this way will it be possible to break the cycle of exclusion that still affects so many people who menstruate, allowing them to fully participate in academic life , professional and social, on equal terms.
