Resumo
This study proposed a conceptual model to estimate sustainable energy generation through anaerobic co-digestion of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) and fish residues using data published in the literature. The research evaluated the energy potential of these residues, identifying physical and chemical characteristics favorable for the production of biogas and biomethane. Data on cassava and fish production in the Amazon were collected to estimate the amount of waste generated and the respective potential for generating electricity. The results indicated that cassava residues, due to their high availability, have a greater contribution to the total biogas production, while fish residues have greater energy efficiency per unit. The analysis revealed that the integration of these residues in biodigestion systems can provide enough energy to supply rural communities, in addition to generating biofertilizers as byproducts, promoting economic and environmental sustainability. The proposed model considers technical, economic and social aspects, with a view to assisting future studies on the subject, such as the development of an operational feasibility study and the inclusion of small producers in the value chain. The implementation of this system contributes to mitigating environmental impacts associated with inadequate waste disposal, in addition to reducing dependence on fossil fuels, promoting a cleaner and more diversified energy matrix. This study highlights the relevance of public policies and incentives to expand the use of anaerobic digestion technologies, particularly in regions with high production of organic waste. The results reinforce the importance of efficient use of natural resources in the Amazon, in line with the objectives of sustainable development and the global energy transition.
