Terminologia da Linguagem Especializada da Enfermagem no cuidado aos povos indígenas com dor crônica no contexto amazônico

Resumo

Introduction: Patients with chronic pain experience conditions that influence their health condition. In this context, nurses are important players in developing a care plan that provides adaptation or improvement in the quality of life of these patients. The use of classification systems to standardize nursing practice provides support for actions of promotion, prevention and interventions for patients. Objective: To develop a glossary of terms used in specialized nursing language to care for indigenous people with chronic pain in the Amazon context. Method: Methodological, exploratory and descriptive study, with a quantitative approach and elaboration of a glossary with constant and non-constant terms of the ICNP®. The first two stages of the Brazilian Method for Development of Terminological Subsets of the ICNP® were developed, with indigenous peoples as the target audience, focusing on the phenomenon of chronic pain and theoretical methodological basis in Afaf Meleis' Theory of Transitions. Results: 173 terms focused on the phenomenon of chronic pain in indigenous peoples, in light of Afaf Meleis' Transition Theory. Of these, 128 terms (74%) are constant terms in the ICNP® and 45 (26%) are non-constant terms, with a prevalence of terms in the Focus Axis. The significant number of constant terms in the ICNP® reinforces the effectiveness of the classification. The analysis of non-constant terms, despite presenting lower prevalence, indicates specific situations not covered by the classification system, which need to be included because they reflect nursing care for indigenous people with chronic pain. Conclusion: The Technical and Technological Product Glossary of Specialized Nursing Language in the care of indigenous people with chronic pain in the Amazon context is classified by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel as Taxonomies, Ontologies and Thesauruses and aims to provide nurses with tools to record nursing actions and practices in the care of indigenous people with chronic pain, based on the Seven-Axis Model of the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®), anchored in the Theory of Transitions. Despite the specificities in the care of indigenous people with chronic pain, nursing already uses ICNP® terms in the exercise of its practice and has specific terms for the phenomenon of interest not covered by the classification system, which confirms that the technical and technological product constructed represents a useful instrument in the care of indigenous people with chronic pain.
