A web-rádio como plataforma educativa e dialógica para temas ambientais

Abstract

Currently, technology has reached such an advanced level that it is present in all environments and sectors. The digitalization of processes over time has brought countless tools and resources that have become indispensable today. One of the sectors that underwent this process of digital globalization was radio, whose main purpose is communication and entertainment. Today, web radios continue to fulfill this purpose and, combined with available digital resources, have become a powerful tool for spreading information and generating knowledge. In this context, the present project aimed to develop an educational web radio using educommunication as its foundational concept. The project was carried out with the collaboration of students from the Technical Course in Computer Maintenance and Support, at the Federal Institute of Amazonas – Coari Campus. It was developed in two stages: first, we created the webpage where the content is made available; then, we developed the programs that were broadcast on the web radio, always focusing on socioenvironmental themes. An initial questionnaire was applied to understand the students’ knowledge about the environment, including awareness campaigns, sustainable practices and behaviors, participation in collective actions, and perceptions of corporate and governmental efforts in environmental matters. Through conversation circles, active methodologies, bibliographic research, and student protagonism, the project sought to identify skills and competencies, as well as to foster the development of critical and engaged citizens. Using a quantitative research methodology, this study aimed to answer the following question: how can communicative ecosystems contribute to the critical learning process of environmental topics through web radio? By means of bibliographic research, the project aimed to highlight, compare, and associate actions that would support its implementation. The web radio is active, with programming and productions developed in collaboration with the students, and features segments such as the “Environmental Moment” (with two podcasts already produced), “Cultural Moment,” “Technology Moment,” as well as news briefs, jingles, and station IDs. As a technical-technological product, the project resulted in the creation of a guide on how to implement an educational web radio focused on environmental themes.
