Sustentabilidade das práticas em comunidade ribeirinha: um estudo de caso na comunidade São Lázaro do Município de Caapiranga – AM

Abstract

This research had as general objective to analyze the confrontation of the socio-environmental issue from the practices of sustainability in the riverside community: case study in the community São Lázaro of the Municipality of Caapiranga - AM, located in the interior of the State of Amazonas. Thus, the research unfolds from the critique of the capitalist production model in contemporary society and how it relates to the socio-environmental issue in riverside communities. In this sense, it was obtained as specific objectives: a) to identify the expressions of the socio-environmental issue faced in riverside communities in the municipality of Caapiranga-AM; b) know the sustainability practices developed in riverside communities and c) point out the challenges and possibilities of sustainability practices in the riverside community. The methodology adopted consisted in historical-dialectical materialism, understanding in its totality and its contradictions, being of research nature: quantitative and qualitative. A field research with representatives of domestic family groups from the São Lázaro community. Thus, techniques and instruments were applied during the field research through participant observation, semi-structured forms, dialogue wheels with the community. Before the analysis of the data obtained in the research, sustainability practices were highlighted: family farming activity as the management of natural resources, production of cassava flour, among others. However, it was also evidenced the forms of work and social organization in coping with the socio-environmental issue and the need for the effectiveness and formulation of public policies for the riverside community.
