O ecoturismo e a governança do uso de recursos comuns nas comunidades da região da Serra da Valéria em Parintins/AM.

Abstract

Ecotourism has become established as a sustainable development alternative in Amazonian regions, especially in communities with strong ties to local natural and cultural resources. In this context, the Serra da Valéria, located in the rural area of Parintins, stands out for its environmental, scenic, and archaeological richness, becoming an important attraction for cruise tourism on the Amazon River. However, the growth of tourism intensifies challenges related to the management and governance of common-use resources, especially regarding the effective participation of the local community in decision-making processes. Thus, this study aims to analyze the governance practices of common resources in ecotourism developed in the communities of the Serra da Valéria region, based on the theoretical approach of Elinor Ostrom. The research is based on the analytical categories of governance, collective action, institutional arrangements, social actors, and sustainability, articulated within the three pillars of sustainability: economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Methodologically, the study employs a qualitative approach, of an exploratory and descriptive nature, relying on a literature review and the construction of a conceptual model aimed at understanding the interactions between the actors involved in local ecotourism. The results point to the identification of mechanisms for community participation and strategies for strengthening shared governance, contributing to the promotion of sustainable ecotourism.
