Abstract

This research aims to analyze the processes of collective guitar instruction integrated into the annual Art curriculum in the final years of elementary school, with an emphasis on the 7th grade, at a public comprehensive education school located on the outskirts of Manaus. The research is grounded in the premise that music, combined with education, constitutes a powerful pedagogical resource capable of significantly contributing to student learning. The didactic-pedagogical approach developed at the school transcends simple technical-musical instruction, seeking to integrate musical practice with the broader objectives of the Art discipline within a formative and comprehensive perspective. The methodology applied is Design-Based Research (DBR), which favors a practical, reflective, and innovative approach that values the collaborative construction of knowledge and promotes meaningful learning. The process begins with musical appreciation through guided performances and listening sessions that spark students' interest, critical thinking, and artistic sensitivity. Subsequently, practical instrument learning develops with a focus on the collective construction of musical knowledge, encouraging cooperation among students and respecting their individual learning pace. As the culmination of the process, students deliver a public musical performance, demonstrating not only the technical skills acquired but also the personal, social, and artistic growth provided by the experience. This research demonstrates that music, when integrated into students' education, acts as an ally and facilitator in motivating and strengthening the interrelationships within the student community. Experiencing music and studying through collective guitar instruction fosters discipline and socialization, which aligns with the principles of comprehensive education
