Elaboração do protocolo de atendimento nutricional ambulatorial de apoio para nutricionistas – pacientes diagnosticadas com endometriose

Resumo

BACKGROUND: Endometriosis is defined as a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs during the reproductive phase of women, and is characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. The most common clinical symptoms are infertility, pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, and dyspareunia. The definitive diagnosis of endometriosis is made by laparotomy or laparoscopy. Treatment can be pharmacological or surgical, and it is described as a chronic inflammatory disease subject to presenting a nutritional deficit. Therefore, nutritional therapy plays an essential role, regulating nutrients, especially antioxidants, inflammatory and immunological factors, in addition to assisting in the detoxification process in the preoperative period. Given the above, the present study is justified by its importance for the preliminary nutritional care of patients with endometriosis, since the creation of the nutritional care protocol aims to mitigate the risks caused by both pharmacological and surgical intervention, improving the inflammatory response, with a reduction in hospital stay and recovery time. OBJECTIVE: To develop and validate an evidence-based outpatient nutritional care protocol to assist nutritionists in the dietary management of patients with endometriosis, improving their quality of life and controlling the symptoms of the disease. METHODOLOGY: This is a qualitative study to develop an outpatient nutritional care protocol that included an integrative review. The AGREE-II instrument was used to validate the protocol in question to assess clinical guidelines by nutritionists working at the Araújo Lima Outpatient Unit - HUGV. RESULTS: The protocol was developed and validated and published on the INTRANET portal, characterized as a relevant institutional document for the continuing education of nutritionists working in outpatient health care. The instrument, based on technical and scientific guidelines and consensus, proved to be effective in the treatment of women with endometriosis. Furthermore, a study was relevant to publicize the effect of the therapeutic diet in women with endometriosis, the results of which were published in the IOSR Journal of Nursing and Health Science - Qualis B1.
