Desenvolvimento de um guia para a assistência de enfermagem na unidade de Pulsoterapia de um Hospital de ensino

Abstract

Introduction: Nursing plays a fundamental role in patient care, especially when employing systematized and interrelated actions that allow for the organization of nursing care. Objectives: To develop a guide for Nursing Care in pulse therapy with the participation of the nursing team, to identify the difficulties and challenges faced by the nursing team in patient care in the pulse therapy unit, and to identify elements necessary for the development of an instrument for the clinical and care evaluation of patients undergoing pulse therapy, guided by the nursing process. Method: This is a Convergent Care Research (CCR) study, developed in the pulse therapy service of a university hospital in the north of the country. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews recorded in the convergence group, with the aim of understanding the potential and limitations of knowledge regarding procedures and care for patients undergoing pulse therapy. Data analysis and interpretation involved transcribing and coding participants' statements using ATLAS-ti software, respecting ethical requirements as this study involved human subjects. The intention was to identify necessary elements to compose a guide to support nursing care in pulse therapy. Results: From the professionals' experience and contributions, two categories emerged that supported the construction of the guide and that respond to the objectives of clinical practice and research, namely: The first category emphasizes the nursing team's experience as the foundation for the construction of a guiding instrument for nursing care in pulse therapy, and the second category points out the important elements for the elaboration of a nursing instrument as a technology for clinical monitoring and patient safety. The Guide for Nursing Care in Pulse Therapy presents the main immunosuppressive medications used in the service with a checklist on the care provided; Flowchart regarding scheduling, workflow, and nursing diagnoses. Final Considerations: The Guide for nursing care of patients undergoing pulse therapy contributes to the reduction of morbidity and mortality associated with infusion treatment of immunosuppressant medications, in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 3 of the 2030 Agenda. The collective construction of innovative technology favored the solution of a problem identified in practice, promoted convergence between research and clinical practice, supported by the experience of professionals and the researcher, in line with the best scientific evidence.
