Construção de um álbum seriado das espécies de triatomíneos registrados no Estado do Amazonas

Abstract

Chagas disease (CD) is an infectious disease caused by the flagellated protozoan Trypanosoma cruzi, whose vector responsible for human transmission is the hematophagous triatomine. Vector-borne transmission of CD is still a challenge in public health, and there is a need for educational technology that enables the identification of the main vectors that cause the disease. This study aimed to build an educational technology in the form of a serial album on the triatomine species recorded in the State of Amazonas. This is a methodological study developed in two stages: stage I - integrative literature review and stage II - construction of the educational technology. The research was carried out in the SciELO, LILACS, MEDLINE and Google Scholar databases, and 28 scientific publications were selected that mention the occurrence of 13 species of triatomines distributed in 5 genera: Rhodnius, Panstrongylus, Eratyrus, Cavernicola and Microtriatoma. The production of the serial album was developed in three phases: I- Conception, II- Execution, and III- Finishing. It was entitled “Triatomine species recorded in the Amazon”. Its structure is composed of images of triatomine species with their respective scientific names and municipalities in the State of Amazonas where each triatomine is found. The distribution among the municipalities was identified on a map with legend. Based on the evidence acquired from the literature review, the construction of the serial album was developed, which stands out for its scientific basis and potential impact on raising awareness about CD, through the understanding of vector transmission and the ability of the population to identify vectors in the future reached by the technology.
