Resumo
The research presented in this thesis began during the master's degree in 2018, with a return to the field to recover memories related to the demarcation process of the Serra da Moça Indigenous Land. The aim is to understand Indigenous struggles, their mobilization actions, and how communities leverage their identities in their resistance processes. The thesis explores how monoculture impacts the health and well-being of the communities, while also threatening their cultures and ways of life. The research shows that Indigenous mobilizations are not limited to the fight for land rights but also incorporate broader reflections, demands, and denunciations. These mobilizations are understood as expressions of cultural self-awareness, where communities recognize their role as political subjects and deepen their environmental and ecological knowledge. This, in turn, strengthens solidarity among local communities, politicizes specific shared aspects, and broadens the struggle to protect their rights and essential resources for their physical and cultural survival.
