Questão ambiental e desastres: os desafios da gestão da política de saúde no contexto amazônico.

Resumo

Climate change that has occurred all over the planet has brought to the fore the debate about the damage that the capitalist mode of reproduction has caused to the environment. In the northern region of Brazil, specifically in Amazonas, the impacts have proven to be a real challenge to life as a whole, through droughts that break historical records every year. In 2024, the state reached the sad mark of the highest number of fires ever recorded. The general objective of the research is to analyze the management of public health in the last two quadrennials related to disasters in Amazonas, in order to strengthen and contribute to the prevention and/or mitigation of disruptive situations. Three specific objectives were proposed: i) to discuss the relationship between environmental issues, disasters and public health taking as reference the reality of the state of Amazonas; ii) to know the management of public health in the municipalities of Amazonas with a focus on actions related to disaster intervention; iii) To understand the work of the teams responsible for public health, with emphasis on the work of social workers. As a basis for the research, historical-dialectical materialism will be adopted, aiming to understand the dynamics of reality, and in the methodological path it is intended to develop bibliographic and documentary research. As a collection instrument, data collection scripts will be used, which will be applied to municipal and state health plans, as well as the State Plan for Prevention and Civil Defense (PEPDEC), in addition to Contingency Plans (state and municipal. As for the results, the research intends to reveal the situation of the municipalities in relation to disaster management, with regard to the prevention, preparation and mitigation of damage caused by disruptive events.
