Direito Autoral no contexto do ensino superior

Resumo

The research discusses, in light of new technological demands, the interactions between ethics, copyright, and academic practices. A qualitative, exploratory-descriptive approach was adopted, based on bibliographic and documentary research, as well as the application of an electronic questionnaire to students linked to the Institutional Program for Technological Development and Innovation Initiation Scholarships (PIBITI/UFAM). The study analyzed legislation and academic literature on copyright and plagiarism, as well as initiatives developed by library systems of Brazilian universities aimed at preventing plagiarism and promoting copyright protection. The results indicate that, although institutional initiatives exist, there is still a lack of structured policies and systematic educational strategies. At the student level, it was observed that, despite having general notions about plagiarism and recognizing the importance of copyright in scientific production, participants demonstrate limited knowledge regarding copyright legislation, the legal implications of plagiarism, and the use of similarity-checking tools. Based on the findings, an accessible educational material was developed, aligned with the specific context of UFAM, aimed at promoting good academic practices, fostering scientific integrity, and guiding the appropriate use of protected works. The study contributes to strengthening the role of university libraries as educational agents in promoting ethics and legality in intellectual production, while also highlighting challenges posed by new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to copyright protection.
