Resumo
This master's dissertation demonstrates the importance of accessibility in both
formal and non-formal inclusive spaces and the use of natural spaces and their
environmental resources as pedagogical learning tools. Its main objective is to
investigate the level of accessibility in formal and non-formal spaces at the
Federal Institute of Amazonas - Maués Campus, evaluating architectural
accessibility based on ABNT NBR 9050 standards and identifying the challenges
faced by students with disabilities. It aims to highlight the need for a paradigm
shift in which nature is no longer seen as an object but as a subject, becoming
an ally in the educational development process. The results showed that the
inclusion of natural elements in school environments enhances interaction and
fosters environmental awareness, while also revealing specific needs to promote
more autonomous accessibility. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4
(SDG 4), which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, the
research presents, as an educational product, a digital learning tool for
environmental science education: a 3D accessibility plan. This tool includes the
necessary adaptations for an inclusive structure and can serve as a model for
other Brazilian schools.
