Os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável na educação continuada dos profissionais da Atenção Primária à Saúde no Município de Manaus

Abstract

Introduction: Faced with global events such as Covid-19 pandemic and climate change, the role of health professionals has become even more challenging. In this scenario, the sustainable development objectives, proposed by the United Nations Agenda 2030, offer essential guidelines for facing current crises, integrating social, economic and environmental dimensions. The low visibility of sustainable development objectives and the lack of deepening on the topic hinders its effective implementation. Continuing education of health professionals is therefore a strategic element to ensure practices aligned with the principles of sustainability and equity. Strengthening educational actions may favor the critical engagement of these professionals in the face of the challenges imposed by the agenda. Thus, investigating how these goals are addressed in continuing education becomes fundamental to the construction of effective policies. Objectives: The study aims to analyze how the educational approach of sustainable development objectives in the continuing education of primary health care professionals, supported by the following specific objectives: analyze whether the health education agendas of the Municipal Health Secretariat of Manaus include the objectives of sustainable development; Describe the knowledge of professionals who work in continuing education and advisory board on sustainable development objectives; And examine how sustainable development objectives can be optimized in the opinion of these professionals. Method: This is a descriptive exploratory research of qualitative approach, with the conduct of two steps, being the first: documentary research; and the second: field research with semi -structured interviews. Results: Based on the study objectives, dissertation results are presented in two articles: 1. The sustainable development objectives in the continuing education of health professionals; 2. Knowledge of primary health care professionals about sustainable development objectives. Conclusion: The study concluded that the sustainable development objectives are not institutionalized at the Municipal Health Secretariat, being invisible in the health education agendas, which are instead of the programmatic actions of the Ministry of Health, with the predominance of the objective of sustainable development 3. The knowledge of professionals about the objectives are heterogeneous, ranging from those who know little about the subject, to those who have greater mastery capable of the inseparable and articulator. SI. The absence of articulation between the contents of the health education agenda and the sustainable development objectives compromises the construction of an organizational culture aligned with the 2030 Agenda. The importance of continuing education as a strategy to strengthen the understanding and practice of objectives in the health sector is reinforced.
