This research aims to analyze the potentialities of open science in fostering free access to information and to the knowledge produced within the scientific practices of the PPGE/UFAM. The guiding question of the investigation is: which practices and strategies demonstrate potential for adherence to open science in a way that contributes to broad free access to the scientific knowledge produced at PPGE/UFAM? The methodological path is mobilized through the cartography of Deleuze and Guattari (1995), understood as a method of following processes in movement, mapping lines of flight, and recording crossings, composing a hódos-meta that is constructed in the very act of researching. The study articulates two empirical fields: (i) PPGE/UFAM, conceived as a program-becoming in the Amazonian context, whose scientific production involves artifacts such as data, methods, diaries, images, books, and questionnaires; and (ii) Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), in Mozambique, experienced during the doctoral sanduíche mobility, which adds to PPGE the dimension of internationalization, and through this experience connects the Amazon and Southern Africa, composing a South–South perspective on scientific openness. Institutional documents from UFAM were analyzed (Information Policy for the Institutional Repository, Open Data Plan 2025–2027, Information and Communications Security Policy, among others), CAPES regulations (Education Area Document 2025 and Evaluation Form 2025–2028), international declarations and manifestos on open science, as well as repositories and databases accessible at UEM. The findings indicate that PPGE/UFAM is situated within an information ecosystem that articulates open infrastructures, repositories, institutional policies, scientific dissemination projects supported by FAPEAM, alongside structural barriers, such as weaknesses in data management and curation, dispersion of scientific production, and dependence on restricted databases. As preliminary results, six zones of attention have emerged: (1) knowledge management and curation; (2) dispersion and underutilization of production; (3) openness policies as inducers of scientific culture; (4) connection between science and public policy; (5) recognition of new scientific typologies; and (6) openness as an affective and committed practice. In this trajectory, open science operates, within PPGE/UFAM, as a micropolitical device of epistemic justice: a becoming that connects knowledges, redistributes visibility, and reinvents the conditions of access to and care for knowledge.
