O apagamento da oclusiva /d/ no morfema formador de gerúndio {-ndo} na fala manauara

Abstract

This study looks at the occurrences of phonetic variants of the gerund-forming morpheme {- ndo} in Manauara speech, from the perspective of Thun's (1996) multidimensional and relational dialectology, which considers linguistic variation in different dimensions (diatopic, diazonal, diageneric, diagenerational and diastratic) and Labov's (1972) variationist sociolinguistics. Data will be collected directly from the neighborhoods of the West Zone (Glória, Santo Antônio, Compensa) and the North Zone (Novo Aleixo, Nova Cidade, Monte das Oliveiras). The data will be collected using the phonetic-phonological questionnaire-QFF, adapted from Araújo's questionnaire (2019). In this research, we aim to map linguistic areas in the city of Manaus, showing the occurrences of variants of {-ndo}; identify which groups of factors (intralinguistic or extralinguistic) are influencing the occurrence of morphophonological variants; define the norm of use of Manaus speech. Thirty-six informants will be selected, six at each survey point, distributed in social cells by gender (women and men); by age group (18-30 years, 31-45 and 46-60 years); and by schooling (Incomplete/Complete Elementary School and Incomplete/Complete High School). The data will be analyzed quantitatively using the Goldvarb X statistical program.
