Educação Física e Interdisciplinaridade: primeiros passos para uma educação na perspectiva rizomática

Abstract

This research focused on Physical Education and Interdisciplinarity: first steps towards an education from a rhizomatic perspective. Thus, the research aimed to answer the following question: how to develop interdisciplinarity in physical education classes? The objective of the research was to understand interdisciplinary physical education as a possibility to expand teaching towards a rhizomatic perspective, clarify the concept of interdisciplinarity, interpret teachers' perceptions of interdisciplinarity, and systematize an interdisciplinary didactic unit of school physical education as an educational product. The research had a qualitative nature and utilized focus groups with physical education teachers and other curricular components who volunteered to participate. A total of 7 (seven) teachers participated. The focus group guide included open-ended questions about their academic background and length of service, as well as guiding questions that placed interdisciplinarity at the core of the discussion. The meeting was recorded in audio and subsequently transcribed. For content analysis, the technique of analyzing units of meaning proposed by Moreira, Simões, and Porto (2005) was used. The results of this research indicate that teachers have knowledge about interdisciplinarity and even apply it in an intradisciplinary and punctual manner; however, it is far from being a continuous process of overcoming the disciplinary fragmentation deeply rooted in schools and among teachers. The causes pointed out for the non-implementation of the interdisciplinary proposal are numerous, including the bureaucracy of the school context, excessive demands, lack of time, and material resources.
