Narrativas de xamanismo na Jurema Sagrada em São Gabriel da Cachoeira-AM

Resumo

This work investigates the cultural and spiritual universe of the Rio Negro people of São Gabriel da Cachoeira (AM), with a focus on the Sacred Jurema and its ritual practices. The research highlights the importance of ancestral knowledge, which fosters prevention, healing, protection, and connection with the spiritual world, while challenging Western perspectives and preserving both Indigenous and afrodiasporic identities. Drawing on fieldwork, interviews, autoethnography, and ethnography, the study examines the rituals, the masters, and the spiritual entities, shedding light on cultural resistance in the face of prejudice. The chapters address the Afro-Indigenous context, the role of specialists, and the application of traditional healing knowledge, emphasizing the relevance of the Sacred Jurema as an expression of resistance and cultural transmission. The work reveals the depth of these practices and their continuity at the Recanto dos Orixás and through the wisdom of Muraquisara in the practice of healing through the power of Nature, as a symbol of hope, faith, and resistance for the descendants of its matriarchal lineage.
