Por uma educação para a tolerância: um diálogo com Voltaire, Norberto Bobbio e Paulo Freire para a construção de uma competência educacional em sala de aula

Abstract

In the contemporary world, tolerance is more necessary than ever. We live in a time marked by cosmopolitanism and multiculturalism, by accelerated human mobility, digital communication and the transformation of new forms of social organization, making the current world a mark of diversity, leading in many moments to the intensification of animosities and intolerances, producing conflicts that affect all strata of human life (society, family, school...). Philosophy, with its age-old knowledge, has much to contribute to support and implement educational programs for tolerance. Thinkers like Voltaire, Bobbio and Freire contributed a lot to the making of a competence proposal for tolerance and for the teaching of philosophy. For these thinkers, tolerance is a priority imperative for human life, they promote a rationality to the theme that leads us to a common denominator, the promotion of a culture of tolerance.
