Gestão patrimonial e contábil na Policia Militar do Estado do Amazonas: proposta de modernização baseada em soluções informatizadas

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) exerts significant influence on administrative activities within public organizations, but there are gaps in its application, particularly regarding an institution's asset management. As with any technological advancement, there are challenges faced by employees who routinely manage assets, which impact the sector's efficiency and security. This work aims to implement a computerized asset management system, examining how this application can help a state institution linked to public security manage its equipment. It also examines how the public sector, particularly the Amazonas State Military Police (PMAM), needs to innovate through technological tools to improve its performance and administrative control. Regarding the methodological approach adopted, this study is characterized as qualitative research. Its nature is applied research. Regarding its objectives, it is classified as descriptive research. Data collection involved administering a questionnaire to staff, conducting bibliographic and documentary research, and conducting a action research. Participants were staff members of the Logistics Support Directorate (DAL), the asset management unit of the institution under study. Data collection also involved document and legislation analysis, semi-structured interviews, and observations of processes performed within the department. This web-based application aims to automate the management of equipment and weapons, allowing for greater control and dynamism in obtaining and exchanging information. This will provide direct users with greater security, efficiency, and simplicity in these actions, optimizing time and resources within the institution.
