Thermal comfort shows us how satisfied we are in a given environment. This occurs when there are pleasant thermal conditions for the body. The thermal comfort and discomfort index allows us to determine whether the environmental conditions are favorable or not for the beings that inhabit it. Analyzing the level of comfort and discomfort in environments such as Matriz Square (Praça da Matriz) and the Exhibition Park (Parque de Exposição) in the municipality of Humaitá is essential to provide a pleasant environment for visitors. Thus, the objective of this work was to analyze the level of thermal comfort and discomfort in public environments of leisure areas (squares and parks) in the municipality of Humaitá - Amazonas. Data on air temperature, dew point and relative humidity data were collected using a thermo-hygrometer sensor (Hobo®, model U23-001) which were programmed to collect data every 1 hour, between the months of January to December (2024). After each collection, calculations were made to estimate the thermal comfort and discomfort indices of the study areas. The results were analyzed and compared between the rainy and dry seasons, which presented inversely proportional temperatures and humidity relative. In the rainy period, the month of October presented the highest temperatures, in both spaces, being 38.7°C with 67.7% relative humidity, and 37.9°C with 65.7%, around 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. In the early morning (12 a.m. to 6 a.m.) and evening (6 p.m. to 11 p.m.), the values were 23.4°C to 25.6°C, with relative humidity of 94.3% to 96.5% in the morning, and 24.3°C to 28.1°C, relative humidity of 87.7% to 95.5%, at night. In the dry period, the highest temperature values were 36.6°C to 40.1°C, relative humidity of 41.5% to 46.8% (12 p.m. to 2 p.m.) in both spaces. In the morning (12 a.m. to 6 a.m.) and evening (6 p.m. to 11 p.m.), in Matriz Square, were 23.5°C to 25.7°C, Relative Humidity of 92.9% to 96.8% in the morning, and 26.2°C to 30.2°C, Relative Humidity of 70.6% to 94.7% at night. In the thermal comfort and discomfort index in Matriz Square and Exhibition Park, the highest values in the rainy season were in October, approximately 48.7°C to 50.3°C between (12 p.m. and 2 p.m.) and 33.6°C to 37.5°C (12 a.m and 6 a.m.), and 35.1°C to 40.7°C (6 p.m. and 11 p.m.), while the discomfort values were in October, being 86.9°C to 88.8°C (12 p.m. and 2 p.m.) and 75.3°C to 76.05°C between (12 a.m. and 6 a.m), and 75.2°C to 79.3°C (6 p.m. and 11p.m.). In the thermal comfort and discomfort index in Matriz Square, the highest values in the dry period were in the months of June to September, being 47.5°C to 51.2°C (12 p.m. and 2 p.m.) and 33.8°C to 38.5°C (12 a.m. and 6 a.m.), and 31.1°C to 40.2 (6 p.m. and 11 p.m.), the discomfort were in the months of June to September, being 87.8°C to 90.1°C (12 p.m. and 2 p.m.) and 70.2°C to 77.1°C (12 a.m. and 6 a.m.), and 75.5°C to 80.1°C (6 p.m and 11 p.m.). Therefore, in the morning and evening periods, the Matriz Square presented a slightly higher temperature compared to PE, in all the months analyzed in the morning and evening, while in the afternoon there were small fluctuations, but the values of the Exhibition Park were higher, presenting greater discomfort, this due to the lack of trees, one of the points, and in the Matriz Square it was more comfortable.
