Abstract

This research, entitled "Work Management in Health Services for the Elderly in Primary Care in the Western District of Manaus City," focuses on the topic of work management in health services for the elderly in Primary Care. The guiding question aims to answer: How is work management developed in health services for the elderly in Primary Care in the Western District of Manaus City? Thus, the general objective is to analyze work management in health services for the elderly in Primary Care in the Western District of Manaus City. The specific objectives are to reflect on the organization and structure of health services for the elderly in Primary Care; to identify the demands of the elderly regarding actions and services in health units in the Western District of Manaus City; and to compare work management in services for the elderly and its implications for health in health units in the Western District. Regarding the methodological approach, critical theory and the historical-dialectical materialism method were chosen; regarding the procedural design, the research was bibliographical, documentary, and field-based. The analytical method was content analysis, which sought to uncover and discuss the object of study, thus contributing to the materiality of knowledge production related to the topic, aiming to improve the quality of health services provided to the elderly population. The results indicate the need for a sensitive and in-depth approach to the topic to address the challenges of aging in Brazil, particularly from the perspective of neoliberal rationality. This highlights the complexity of understanding the intrinsic factors in this context, which permeate conceptual discussion and historical and social factors. The viability of older adults' rights to health requires a close attention to the specificities of aging, the strengthening of Primary Care and the appreciation of its workers, as well as the implementation of mechanisms for social participation in management to ensure quality services for the elderly population.
