Resumo
This is a qualitative research focused on the analysis of Japanese pop culture in
Manaus, developed from a transcultural approach in dialogue with Cultural Studies. The work
is based on contributions from Cultural Studies, seeking to understand the processes of
circulation, resignification, and production of meaning within the Amazonian context.
Regarding methodology, bibliographic research and interviews conducted at the Jungle Matsuri
event in 2025 were utilized. To analyze the articulation between transcultured pop culture and
the local Japanese-Brazilian environment, it engages with the reflections elaborated by
Raymond Williams, as well as by Greiner, based on her understanding of the body and the
environment as communicative instances in motion.
