Conexões culturais e científicas: a utilização de narrativas míticas no ensino das Ciências Ambientais

Abstract

The present study analyzed the understanding and relationship of students with the environment, exploring the use of mythical narratives in the teaching of Environmental Sciences. The objective was to develop technical-educational material to promote a culture of socio-environmental knowledge in schools, integrating mythical narratives with the scientific and philosophical approach. It was sought to stimulate human curiosity in the face of questions about the origin of the world, nature and life, recognizing the myth as one of the first answers to questions about the cosmos. The research stimulated dialogue and problematization between different fields of knowledge, aiming to build an interdisciplinary educational practice that contributes to the formation of critical sense in the face of socio-environmental issues and to the conscious exercise of planetary citizenship. The methodological path was based on Edgar Morin's theory of complexity, having as a method the case study with a qualitative approach. The results show that educators and students significantly articulate elements of mythical narratives to contemporary socio-environmental problems. It was found that these narratives constitute a valuable methodological resource for the teaching of Environmental Sciences, which enabled the development of the Technical-Technological Product MYTHICAL NARRATIVES IN THE TEACHING OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES: Pedagogical Workshops. This product breaks with paradigms of absolute truths, promotes dialogue between rational knowledge and traditional knowledge and strengthens the construction of an interdisciplinary educational praxis focused on the development of environmental knowledge.
