Cadernos da Inovação no Alto Solimões: Prognóstico Administrativo APROCAM

Resumo

Technical report presenting the administrative prognosis of APROCAM, the Association of Brazil-Nut Producers and Processors of Amaturá, in the Upper Solimões, Amazonas, Brazil, together with the resulting action plan. Created in 2001 through the mobilisation of local leaders as a collective strategy to strengthen the processing and commercialisation of extractive production, the association has 81 active members and involves some 100 extractivist families from rural communities and the municipal centre, predominantly riverine and Indigenous (Ticuna and Cocama peoples). It analyses the territorial and logistical context — upland forest, native Brazil-nut groves and dependence on river transport —, the community processing unit established in 2008 for drying, shelling and sorting, and the organisation's administrative conditions.
